Convenience Foods & HELP US NAME OUR PUPPY!!!

Monday again, my friends!

I’m feeling motivated to make this a kick butt, productive week. Actually I am not off to a great start seeing how I haven’t grocery shopped or meal planned, but you better believe me that it will get done today! The whole painting the garage unexpectedly on Saturday and then football watching party at our friends’ out of town kind of threw a wrench in my weekly preparation. It was totally worth it though because last night was a lot of fun watching the Cowboys game with my friends!

We didn’t get home until after 11pm last night, so the food I packed for breakfast and lunch today was all about convenience. I fully believe that even convenience foods can be healthy if you stick to the right brands and only rely on them in moderation.

Breakfast was a Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Sprouted Grain English Muffin with a Gardein Breakfast “Sausage” Patty and jam. It was my first time trying the new Gardein patties and I thought they were pretty good!

Lunch was a frozen Amy’s Bean & Rice Burrito covered in tons of salsa. I felt like I was right back in college eating this. In my last 2 years of college I worked 8-5 and then attended night school from 6:30-9:30 so I always ate dinner at my office before class. 90% of the time I had one of these burritos because they were quick, easy, vegan (this was during my 3.5 yr vegan span), and DELICIOUS! Oh, and healthy as far as frozen burritos go.

On the side I had a juicy nectarine for a little sweetness.

I guess I should probably eat some vegetables at some point today Winking smile

And now I have some super exciting news to share!!

If you follow me on Instagram (@hisnhersash <---follow me if you want to keep up with every single detail of my life and don’t get annoyed by massive Instagram posts) then you probably already saw the good news….

We got a new puppy!

Ever since we lost our Gracie Girl back in June…

I’ve really missed having a little snuggle buddy around the house. Since the 6th grade I have always had a Chihuahua (5 different ones to be exact), so it has been really weird for me to not have one running around under my feet constantly.

My niece, Haleigh, text me on Sunday morning and asked me if I wanted a dog that her Aunt had and couldn’t keep. At first I told her I would think about it, but I wasn’t so sure I really wanted to take on the responsibility.

And THEN she, her mom and her step-dad showed up at my house a few hours later with the puppy in hand and exclaimed, “We brought you your puppy!” Those sneaky devils obviously know that I am a big ol’ sucker. There was no way I could turn down that cute little face! She is at least 1/2 Chihuahua for sure but I am thinking there might be something else mixed with her too. Either way she’s the most adorable, fiesty little thing ever. The hubby and I already are so attached!

I know, her ears are the only “chihuahua” feature she really has! We shall see when she gets a little bigger ;-) haha Sneaky Pete is so funny, but I think Benson is adorable!
